Intervals can really help you take care of the heavy lifting when you are learning arpeggios and chords. These little gems help you to zone in on the juicy spots of a particular tonality and can go along way in helping you break out of well-worn scale based ruts in your soloing and come up with spine tingling riffs for your tunes.
